Celebrating 500 years of the Butchers' Guild

Updated: May 17, 2022

On Saturday 14 May, we joined the City Freemen in the historic surroundings of Durham Town Hall, for a belated celebration of 500 years of the Butchers' Guild. The sunshine brought out the crowds so we were kept busy explaining the mechanics of spinning and weaving to lots of interested visitors most of the day. A big thank you to Gary Bankhead for

putting us in touch with the City Freemen who are the remaining link to the historic Guilds of Durham. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with them in the future.
